About

Hi, I'm Lucía

I’m a product designer from Buenos Aires. What I enjoy most about my job is walking into a problem that looks like a mess, pulling it apart, talking it through with the right people, and ending up with something that feels much simpler than the problem behind it.

I’ve spent most of my career on complex products, the kind with lots of rules, users, states, and edge cases. I don’t think in isolated screens: I like understanding the whole system, spotting the patterns, and designing things that can grow.

How I work

I’m pretty pragmatic. I care a lot about quality and I sweat the details, but I don’t design in an ideal vacuum. I need to understand the business, the tech, and the real constraints before deciding what makes sense. I’ll question a requirement when I suspect there’s a problem behind it that nobody has defined yet, and I’d rather explain a decision than defend a preference.

I work very close to engineering. Besides the classic handoff, I build in Storybook, open PRs for components, and use tools like Cursor and Claude Code to bring design decisions closer to the code. AI is part of my everyday toolkit, not as a replacement for design but as a way to spend less time on production and more time on the thinking: what to build, why, and how it should behave.

Where I do my best work

On teams where design and product have a real seat at the table. That means a mature design culture, room to actually understand users, and decisions that aren’t just a queue of requests to execute. I love a good discussion with devs and PMs where every discipline brings something, and I’m happy to have my own ideas challenged too.

I also care more and more about what I’m helping build. It doesn’t have to be a specific industry, but I want to understand why the product matters. The role that fits me best is hands-on, with real ownership, where I can also shape strategy, systems, and the way the team designs.

Off the clock

Outside of work, I especially enjoy creative activities that let me work with my hands and step away from screens. Cooking is a big part of my life: I studied at the IAG (Instituto Argentino de Gastronomía), and I enjoy cooking as much as experimenting, trying new things, and understanding the processes behind what I make. I also do ceramics, which I value for its slower, more tangible rhythm, and because it lets me focus on something completely different from my everyday work.

I think these interests say a lot about who I am and how I work. I’m curious, detail-oriented, and I really enjoy the process of making, testing, adjusting, and learning by doing. At work, that same curiosity shows up in how I explore problems and try to understand how things work before landing on a solution.

I also love traveling, discovering new places and other cultures. It’s another way to step out of what I know, find new references, and keep alive the curiosity that runs through both my personal and professional life.

At home I’m outnumbered: four cats (Sheldon, Astrid, Paprika, and Cúrcuma) and a dog, Oliva. If a tail shows up in the corner of our video call, it’s one of them.

Say hi

If you want to talk about product design, or swap a good recipe, I’d love to hear from you.
